Beyond Business: A Conversation with Sky Lim
From building X10 Media into a regional influencer marketing agency to launching FLYCO, Sky Lim’s entrepreneurial journey has been shaped by persistence, experimentation and a willingness to keep moving forward.
After more than a decade in influencer marketing, Sky wanted to take what he had learned from helping brands grow and apply it to something of his own. That vision became FLYCO, initially a customisable luggage brand built around functionality, personalisation and value.
Today, that vision has grown beyond luggage. Sky is building towards a wider travel ecosystem designed to make the journey itself more enjoyable — from the products travellers use to the experiences they discover along the way.
BUILDING WHAT COMES NEXT
As travel and technology evolve, Sky sees smarter travellers, AI and user-generated content playing an increasingly important role.
For him, the future is not simply about finding the cheapest flight or hotel, but creating more personalised and meaningful travel experiences.
A LESSON FROM 23 TO 33
When asked what he would tell his 23-year-old self, Sky kept it simple:
“Speak less, listen more.”
After years of learning through experience and guidance from mentors, he has come to appreciate the importance of listening — to mentors, his team and the people around him.
THE POWER OF COMMUNITY
Community has also become an important part of Sky’s journey.
As an active 33Club member, he values the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds, exchange ideas and build relationships that extend beyond networking. Some of those connections have even developed into friendships and business partnerships.
For Sky, entrepreneurship is not just about building businesses. It is also about the people, experiences and conversations that shape the journey.
Members’ Voice brings those stories to the forefront — giving 33Club members a space to share the ideas, experiences and perspectives behind what they do.
